The Satterfield First Responder Scholarship fund was founded by Andy and Amy Satterfield to
support the long-term sustainment of public safety and first responders in the Troy community.
The fund will provide scholarships to Troy students pursuing higher education and academy
certifications in public safety to include Police, Fire, EMS, and public safety Dispatchers. The
fund will also provide financial opportunities for Troy programs focusing on developing interest
in public safety such as police and fire youth explorer programs and educational scholarships for the children of first responders serving the Troy Community.
Recruitment and retention in public safety has reached a critical point nationwide and the City of Troy has not been immune to the downward trend in the number of qualified applicants. It’s
extremely important to the quality of life for Troy Citizens that the public safety service and
professionalism is maintained. The Satterfield First Responder Scholarship Endowment is a
small step toward providing opportunities to Troy youth interested in the profession and to the
future of public safety.
